They continued their operation till 1978 when Government of India took over control of the company in its entirety. In 1987, the company became a fully owned subsidiary of Bharat Bhari Udyog Nigam Ltd (BBUNL) under Ministry of Heavy Industries, Government of India and thus became a Central Public Sector Undertaking (CPSU).
